Info. for Hockey Moms and Dads

A thank you poem for Mom and Dad

I know you've spent hours waiting in stands

Thanks for enduring cold feet and cold hands.

Volunteering and scheduling your time so precise

Thanks for the pep talks and pre-game advice.

When I look in the crowd, I search for your faces

Thanks for taping my sticks, and tying my laces.

Jerseys and socks and pads head to toe

Thanks for them all and more as I grow.

Each goal and each save is met by your cheers

Thanks for tending the wounds, and wiping the tears.

When I make a mistake or in the box rest

Thanks for believing that I'm still the best.

You seem to understand for what I am striving

Thanks for buyin the gas, and doing the driving.

When my team has done poorly and you want to lay blame

Thanks for remembering...it's only a game.

And when the day comes that my hockey life ends

Thanks for surrounding me with such valuable friends.
